Coaching Philosophy

Maybe you’ve been performing well, but are feeling unfulfilled and under valued. Maybe you recognise that your team is not fully engaged with what they are doing. Maybe you want to shake things up a bit in your life, but don’t know how to start. Maybe you are simply not engaged with what you do on a daily basis, and as a result feel restless and unfulfilled. If any of these things are true of you, I can help.

I have a wide variety of experiences and training with degrees in Economics, Philosophy, Divinity, Consulting and Coaching for Change, and Social Innovation and after 10 years leading non-profit religious organisations I have learned a lot about what it takes to keep people engaged and motivated.

My practice revolves around two things; Improvisation and Purpose.

First, “Improvise on Purpose” is about purposefully using the rules, techniques, and exercises of Improvisational Theatre to respond to particular situations and adapt your current strategy to be successful. From this perspective we will be talking about the ways we can prepare ourselves to be flexible and move with the flow so that we don’t block good things that are happening around us.

Second, “Improvise on Purpose” is about identifying and living from a core sense of purpose. This topic seems to be jumping up everywhere; from Aaron Hurst and his book The Purpose Economy, to TED’s playlist “How to find your purpose”, to Simon Sinek’s Start with Why, to this quote attributed to Mark Twain, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” Our work will help you find your purpose and then live out of that purpose.

As a catalyst I want to help you uncover what drives you so you can be more purposeful and passionate about your everyday life. Together we will figure out what drives you, and explore creative tools to help be more responsive to changes that happen around you.

If this interests you, let’s talk.
